Around 10 years ago I became interested in 3D sculpting/art after years of being a 2D visual artist/photographer. Much emotion and spirit is available within the wood knots - in shape and form; I strive to extract the visage from the wood, each work exuding a separate emotion and personality.

I use new techniques often, built upon from previous work-so in a sense it's always an evolving method, laying a new step for the next process. Keeping records and notations is helpful, as many methods and layers of technique are usually involved in the creative process which usually begins with an idea along with a photograph for reference.

I upload weekly "how-to" videos on Youtube, showcasing technique and tips. I also harvest and collect cottonwood bark for sale for artists, carvers and sculptors.

I ship out blank bark in large flat-rate boxes via USPS. I use PayPal for payment and have the ordering page up and running. I recommend inquiring prior to ordering, as bark supply is sometimes limited.

Kind Regards,

Paul Ayars
